Nate A. Miller, Greeley Tribune: Weld District Attorney Ken Buck has seen a surge of support in his bid for U.S. Senate recently that has helped him narrow a gap with primary opponent Jane Norton, according to a poll released Tuesday.
The poll, conducted last week by Raleigh, N.C.-based Public Policy Polling, showed Norton leading Buck 31 percent to 26 percent. In a similar Public Policy Polling survey conducted in March, Norton led Buck 34 percent to 17 percent. The poll also showed Buck leading among conservative Republican voters.
"The poll shows what we've been seeing on the campaign trail for a long time," Buck campaign spokesman Owen Loftus said. "People are tired of insider politics. They're tired of Washington, D.C., lobbyists and insiders picking our candidates."
