Buck Wins Latest Round on Meet the Press
Bennet Runs from Rubberstamp Record, President Obama
Washington, DC—Republican nominee Ken Buck faced off against appointed Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet at the Meet the Press debate this morning.
While Buck laid out his plan for reining in Washington’s out of control spending, Bennet focused on platitudes, running away from his rubberstamp record and President Obama.
Meet the Press host David Gregory highlighted the fact that Bennet is running away from Pres. Obama.
“Americans saw a clear difference between Ken and the appointed Senator,” said Owen Loftus, Buck’s spokesman. “While Ken talked about his vision for helping Coloradans, Sen. Bennet made it clear that he does not want to take responsibility for rubberstamping over $3 trillion in new debt.”
Bennet highlighted his belief that the Senate is supposed to be a rubberstamp for the White House, when stating that a Senator shouldn’t second guess the President--
“The Constitution clearly states that Senators have a responsibility in advising and consenting to Supreme Court nominees,” added Loftus. “Clearly, Michael Bennet believes a Senator is supposed to be a rubberstamp for the President. Ken believes that a Senator is supposed to work for the people of Colorado.”
The program will air at 9:00 AM MST on NBC.
