We're glad to see buck mulling run

The Greeley Tribune
We heard this week that Weld District Attorney Ken Buck has been giving serious thought to making another run at a U.S. Senate seat, and we think that’s a good thing.
Buck challenged incumbent Democrat Michael Bennet in 2010, and the Denver Post reported this week he is thinking about challenging incumbent Democrat Mark Udall in 2014.
Buck drew some criticism during his 2010 bid, and a couple of high-profile gaffes got national attention and ultimately doomed his campaign. However, he also showed he’s a strong campaigner who is capable of winning broad-based support in Colorado. Despite beginning the 2010 campaign as a virtual unknown outside Weld, Buck led in the polls for much of the race and ultimately lost to Bennet by only 28,859 votes in one of the year’s closest races.
With the election more than a year away, it’s too early for us to say anything about our pick for the seat in 2014, but we do think it’s important to see strong, qualified candidates form both parties compete in these races. That’s why we’re glad to see Buck thinking about throwing his hat in the ring.
